Why some salons grow without ads

Many owners of salons believe that in order to grow they first of all need advertising. Instagram Ads, Google Ads or paid campaigns seem like the obvious solution when you want more customers.

However, if you look closely at the constantly growing salons, you will notice one interesting thing: some of them almost do not invest in advertising at all.

Their growth comes from elsewhere: customer experience, recommendations and loyalty.

1. Recommendations remain the strongest form of promotion

In the beauty industry, recommendations work extremely well. A satisfied customer will very easily tell a friend about the salon where she goes.

This type of recommendation is much more powerful than any advertisement, because it comes from a real experience.

Often, the organic growth of a salon begins exactly like this:

  • a satisfied customer
  • a recommendation
  • a new customer who in turn becomes loyal.

2. Customer experience makes the difference

The service itself is important, but the complete experience matters just as much.

For the client, the experience starts from the moment of appointment and continues throughout the visit.

Things like:

  • how easy it is to program
  • whether the schedule is adhered to
  • The atmosphere in the living room
  • how the client is treated.

Salons that pay attention to these details create experiences that are worth telling.

3. Loyal customers are the engine of growth

A stable salon does not depend only on new customers. In fact, a large part of the income comes from customers who are constantly coming back.

Loyal customers:

  • regular wine
  • recommend the salon
  • trust the services provided.

The higher the customer return rate, the more stable and predictable the salon becomes.

4. Ads work better when the base is solid

Ads can help a salon reach more people, but they can't make up for a poor experience.

If the customer's services, organization, or experience are not well aligned, ads will bring in customers who come only once and never come back.

Conversely, when the base is solid, advertisements become just a tool to accelerate growth.

The growth of a salon does not always come from large marketing budgets.

In many cases, it comes from simpler things:

  • satisfied customers
  • good experiences
  • Natural Recommendations
  • relationships built over time.

Salons that manage to create these things often end up growing steadily, even without ads.
